The migration amnesty gives foreigners whose stay has expired or fallen out of status a chance to regularise their situation without the usual fines or an entry ban. The window closes on 9 July 2026, and the Interior Ministry says it will not be extended.

The ministry reports a surge of applicants in the final days — queues at the immigration desks of the district police are longer than usual. Anyone who has not applied yet is advised to prepare a passport, proof of address and the payment of fees in advance, and not to leave it to 9 July.

After the deadline the amnesty terms lapse, and those left without a settled status risk fines and problems at their next entry. The exact list of documents and the procedure are on icisleri.gov.ct.tr.

The TRNC has announced a programme to bring fibre-optic to homes. By the end of 2027 the fibre is meant to reach districts, schools and hospitals across the north.

Fibre gives noticeably faster and more stable internet than the current lines. The authorities call it a step toward the north's 'digital independence' and the growth of communication services.
